In addition to the HC100A, there is a free software available, which allows the remote control of the HC100A and covers the all functionalities.
The software HC100A Service Tool can be downloaded from the PST website, see here: Humidity Validator | Rotronic HygroCal100 Advanced (processsensing.com)
To connect the HC100A to the PC connect with the USB-B to USB-A cable.
Connect the USB-B connector on the back of the HygroCal and connect the USB-A connector to the PC.
After installing the Software, start the HC100 ServiceTool Software and click on "Connect" to search for you HC100A.
As soon as the "Connect" button is clicked an add device wizard will appear.
Select for the Comport Select setting the "Auto search" function and click on "Detect Device" to search for the HC100A.
As soon as a HC100A is found, the add device wizard will show in the result window a "HC100-A found at COM6".
Click on "Finish" to end the process.
On the measurement page, the real-time measured values of the various sensors can be displayed as required. Either as a table or as a graph. The view can be selected as a "Table" or "Graph" tab at the top left. If the graph is selected, the other 7 ports can also be displayed graphically at the top right under "Plots" in addition to the control sensor. These can be selected as needed.
On the configuration page, you can view the scaling and the analog signal of the individual sensors that have been selected in the HC100A. To read out the values, click on "Read Device".
The HC100A can be programmed with a calibration routine on the program page as locally on the device under Operating Guide.
A calibration routine can then be defined, through each point in the calibration is listed by row. By checking the check box at "Activate" to activate to program the needed humidity value. The set point contains a relative humidity value in %, and a duration in the format in min. For each row, the target relative humidity value will be maintained for the duration.
NOTE: The duration does not include time taken to reach and stabilize on the target. The duration time starts to count down once the measured RH value has been stable to within ± 0.5% of the set point for 20 seconds.
There are 2 different logging functions that can be used on the logging page.
With PC-Logging, you can log the measurement data directly on your PC. First select the storage location for the log file and then the log interval can be defined in seconds.
NOTE: When you select the storage location, save the file name so that a .csv is written at the end of the name (so that you can read the logging data via Excel).
As soon as "Start" is pressed, the HC100A starts logging and this is indicated with a green circle that the HC100A is logging.
If you want to download the HC100A log data, select the "HC100-A Log files" tab. First click on "Read" to read out the data from the HC100A.
NOTE: As long as the PC-Logging function is running, no data can be read from the HC100A. Stop the PC-Logging to download the data.
Then select the file with the correct file name and select (before clicking on "Transfer") the location where your log file will be saved. Once you have selected the location, click on "Transfer". You will then see the progress of the data transfer in the loading bar. As soon as the loading bar is full, the data has been transferred.
The adjustment page is currently not functional, but will be available as a software update in the future.
However, the function can be used on the local device, see here: System Settings
