Quick Start - On-Premise

The following quick start is for the RMS On-Premise software (RMS-WEB). This quick start is limited due to the fact that the RMS software needs to be installed on the server and as of such is an overview of the required steps be able to start working with the RMS software.

1.Download the RMS software files from the link found in the SLA contract. If you have a PREMIUM SUPPORT SLA, then all software upgrades are included, in which case, please contact rms@rotronic.ch for the latest version of the software: Version and Change Control.

2.The RMS software files include:

a.The web server files.

b.The SQL server files scripts required for the SQL database creation.

3.Save the RMS software files to your server.

4.Install the software following this guide: Server Software Installation.

5.Once the software is installed and running, devices can be added. The devices will require additional configuration via the RMS-CONFIG Software:

a.Update the network settings.

b.Update the web service (host, path and port).

6.Using the RMS-CONFIG software:

a.Download the RMS-CONFIG software: RMS-CONFIG Download.

b.Install the RMS-CONFIG software: Software Installation. The RMS-CONFIG software can be installed on a local PC/Laptop or on the server.

7.Add an RMS device to the same network that the RMS-CONFIG software is installed on.

a.Add the RMS device to RMS-CONFIG: Device.

b.Upgrade the network settings:Settings.

i.DHCP or fixed IP: Defined by the network administator.

c.Upgrade the web service details: Settings.

i.Host: Defined by the user who installed the software.

ii.Port: Defined by the IT network administator, traditionally port 80.

8.Test that the RMS device is setup correctly by clicking on the host and path test.

a.If the test is OK, it means that the RMS device can communicate to the web service.

b.If the test results in an Error, it means that the RMS device cannot communicate to the web service. Please ensure that the device is on the correct network and has connection to the server.

9.Once the RMS device is setup correctly, add the RMS device to the RMS software: Add a Device.
