When carrying out an RMS software installation, it is key to plan correctly.
The software installation process can last for a few hours, Rotronic AG recommend to plan for a minimum of 4 hours.
Checklist:
1.Are the SQL server and the application server separate? Or all on the same server? Rotronic AG will require access to both servers when installing the software (with Admin rights).
2.If the installation is carried out on separate servers, is port 1433 and UDP 1434 for MS SQL server open?
3.What OS are being used?
4.Do the servers have Internet access? The software package needs to be on the server in order to install it.
5.What version of MS SQL will be used?
6.Is Windows Authentication used on SQL Server? If so, is the service user known?
7.Is port 8091 already occupied?
8.Is HTTPS used? If so, is a certificate available?
9.Is LDAP used? If yes, what is the URL and port?
10. Are IT specialists available at all times? Rotronic AG require a server specialist, a network specialist and an MS SQL specialist.
11.Which remote maintenance tool does the customer use? TeamViewer? teams? Another, which one?
12. Are users present for testing?
13. Will port 80 be used for communication with the RMS devices, if so, is the port open bidirectionally?
