Start-Up

The typical start up time is for all TF5A around 5 seconds.

Measurement interval
The measuring interval of TF5A Advanced variants corresponds to 1 second

Current Consumption

TF5A-2:  The maximum current consumption is 2x23 mA.

TF5A-3 & TF5A-D1: When both outputs are connected, the maximum current consumption is 80 mA.

Analog output scaling and signal types

With the ROTRONIC HygroSoft software any of the two analog output signals for TF5A-3 and TF5A-D can be used as a current or voltage output for temperature measurement. For the TF5A-2 the output signal is available only as 4...20mA. By default for all TF5A only the analog output 1 is used, the output 2 is unused. Its scaling can be set within the numerical limits of -999.99 and 9999.99. The D/A converters used to generate the analog output signals feature bigger than 15-bit resolution.

Note: Both circuits have an internal polarity protection. Incorrect supply voltages as well as excessive loads on the outputs can damage the Transmitter.

Overview of Hygrosoft Functions

The device-specific configuration functions are detailed in the Chapter Hygrosoft below the section Supported devices:HF3A/TF5A

Simulator mode

A simulation value can be enabled for each measured parameter on a HygroFlex device. When a simulation value is activated, it replaces the current measured value with the defined value. This feature allows to test whether the HygroFlex device correctly processes a specified fictitious value. The simulation value can only be configured, activated, or deactivated via the NFC interface using the corresponding smartphone or PC application.

Status LED

The TF5A-3 and TF5A-D come with three default status LED colors, each indicating a different operational status. The TF5A-2, however, does not have a LED indicator.

Hierarchy of error messages

To achieve a normal operation status indicated by a green light, the following errors must be resolved:

Serious errors (These prevent the device from functioning normally)

Sensor errors

Power, output, or scaling errors

Simulator mode

Alarm mode

In the event of a serious error, please disconnect the power supply and then reconnect the device. If the issue persists, contact Rotronic Support for further assistance.
