Network Planning and Monitoring

Based upon the information from above, Rotronic would always recommend to carry out a network planning to make a first guess about the number of gateways required. The network planning would consist of placing a transmitter (data logger) and receiver (gateway) in the intended location after the temperature mapping has been carried out if necessary. Then based upon the dBm levels, the user can define the number of gateways required.

 

As explained in a previous chapter, obstacles and electronic devices can hinder the wireless signal transmission. As such Rotronic would always recommend monitoring the wireless signal strength during operation.
