Example of insufficient Wireless Communication and the issues that can occur

Should the wireless signal strength not be sufficient, communication issues will appear between the data logger and the gateway.

The first signal is that within the audit trail, device timeout errors will appear. It is crucial to understand that the data logger will then try to communicate with the gateway as frequently as possible to re-establish communication and send the logged data. As soon as device timeouts appear, the data loggers battery (if only battery powered) will diminish at a much faster rate.

Further to the timeouts, data gap reminders will appear. RMS will try to download that data automatically 3 times, when successful the read out data message will appear in the audit trail. After the 3 times, the user must download the data manually. The data gap will remain in the system until the data is downloaded.

If the data loggers are always in a situation where the communication is never optimal, the battery will be drained. A low battery power will be seen in reminders. Furthermore a message measuring time not valid may appear in the audit trail. In both cases, the battery needs to be changed.
