TL-CC1 - what consequence has it if I use it after "Start before"

At the back of TL-CC1 there is a date "Start before". What happens if I use it after this date? Is it only because of the battery?

The period of logging (1 log per hour) before the expiration is about a year. Using it after the date will shorten this period. The life cycle of the battery is not warranted after the expiration.
