  • Interval < 1min for wireless devices

    Hi folks,
is it possible to get intervals lower than 60 seconds for RMS wireless loggers? If yes, do I have still 60 addresses per channel available? Do I have to manage the RF system special?

With the on-premise server, the user can log down to every 10s with the wireless devices. However, you decrease the number of devices that can be added to a gateway. Logging 10s allows you to add 10 devices to the gateway.

      Hi

In principle it is possible. Although it depends on the RMS software. If you are using the RMS cloud, the shortest interval possible is 60 seconds. If you are hosting your own RMS web server, you can choose 10s, 30s, 60s and more.

Please consider that the address range is reduced for 10 and 30 seconds interval time.
For 10s only the addresses 1 to 10 are available, and for 30s the addresses 1 to 30. This limtis the possible maximum numbers of connectable/pairable devices per channel(10s maximum 10 devices/30s maximum 30 devices).

If it is wished, it is also possible to mix different intervals on the same channel. But this requires some planing ahead. Because for example a device paired with 10 seconds on address 1, occupies also the addresses 11, 21, 31, 41, 51. A further device with 30 seconds interval on address 2 also occupies the address 32. The remaining addresses would still be free.

Please note: A reduction of the interval causes a higher battery usage.
