  • Case 201

    Question:
The customer changed the server IP address, deleted the devices, updated the IP information on the devices and added them to the software again. The old data is unavailable.

    Possible Root Cause:
    1. The devices have been deleted and add again by the user.
    Solution:
    1. No solution possible. The data is no longer available unless the customer has backed up the database.
    2. When changing the host IP address of the host (server), as the devices are write protected, they must be deactivated within the RMS software. Once the devices are deactivated, the write protection is no longer active and the device settings can be updated within the RMS-CONFIG software.
    3. When changing the host IP address of the host (server), as the devices are write protected, it is possible to push on the device button for 8 seconds, after the light blinks, then write the settings with RMS-CONFIG.
    Additional Information:
When the server IP address changes, the device host needs to be updated within RMS-CONFIG to ensure communication between the device and the server.
When devices are linked to the server, they are write protected to ensure data integrity.
