  • Minilogger with dig. input

    Hi together,

how does the Minilogger with digital input works internally? Does it measure a resistance for detection of open / closed connector (passive digital signal) or does it measure a voltage on the input from an active high / low signal (e. g. 3.3V and 0V)?
And where are the trigger level?
The application behind is a simple water detector with two metal connectors that detects water between. So can I use such a water detector directly with the Minilogger or do I need some active power to supply waterdetection?

The RMS-MDI detects passive as well acitve digital signals.
    Passive digital signals:
    • The trigger level is app. 15KOhm. So if you detect with your water detector water that causes a resistance of lower than 15KOhm you get a Digital Low (0) and it would work.
    Active digital signals:
    • It is possible but not recommended to detect active signals.
    • An alternative would be a RMS-MADC-868-V and your water detector powered with max. 10V. But beware that the digital signal will be sent only every interval and not with every event.

We recommend using the WB-0001 together with the RMS-MDI-868/915 device.
Please find out more details here: https://www.rotronic.com/en-ch/wb-0001.html
