The HFM53 is a high-precision 3-wire humidity and temperature transmitter designed for permanent installation in demanding outdoor environments. It is ideal for applications requiring exceptional measurement accuracy, such as meteorological towers, airport weather stations, and building rooftops. Constructed from durable aluminum alloy with a marine-grade protective coating, the enclosure is specifically engineered to withstand harsh weather conditions, including coastal environments.
•Range of application electronics -40…60°C
•Robust Alu housing with cable-mount remote probe connection
•Designed for humidity-temperature probe.
•Calculation of psychrometric parameters such as the dew or frost point Humidity temperature calibration and adjustment
•Operating range from -50 …100°C / 0…100 %rh.
•Free scalable signal outputs: current and voltage
•UART Interface
•User configurable settings
•Simulator mode
•Automatic humidity sensor test and drift compensation Sensor failure mode
•Data recording
The typical start up time is around 3 seconds.
Measurement interval
The measuring interval corresponds to 1 second
The nominal current consumption is lower than 50mA.
Analog output scaling and signal types
With the ROTRONIC HygroSoft software any of the two analog output signals can be used as a current or voltage output for temperature and humidity measurement. Its scaling can be set within the numerical limits of -999.99 and 9999.99.

Note: Circuits have an internal polarity protection. Incorrect supply voltages as well as excessive loads on the outputs can damage the Transmitter.
Overview of Hygrosoft Functions
The device-specific configuration functions are detailed in the Chapter Hygrosoft below the section Supported devices: HF5/HFM53
Simulator mode
A simulation value can be enabled for each measured parameter on a HygroFlex device. When a simulation value is activated, it replaces the current measured value with the defined value. This feature allows to test whether the HygroFlex device correctly processes a specified fictitious value.
