Analog Input

Measurement principal

The device carries out an analog to digital conversion in an adjustable interval.

Scaling of an input

With "Scaling low" and "Scaling high", the measurement range can be aligned to the analog input range.

E. g. a measured CO2 concentration range of 400 to 2000 ppm can be aligned to an analog input range of 0-10 V. The 400 ppm will be aligned to 0 V "Scaling low" while the 2000 ppm would be aligned to 10 V "Scaling high".

Open Loop Detection

If the Open Loop Detection function is set on, the device can recognize an open loop on the input.

If an open loop is detected the device sets a sensor missing alarm and the measurement value to NAN (not a number) which is shown as "---" on the RMS-Software.

Note:

The RMS-ADC-L-R cannot detect a short circuit on the input.

Threshold tracing

The threshold tracing function contains an overload detection, which generates an sensor alarm in case the measured value exceeds the maximum input value of the measuring range.

For the 4..20 mA input setting this function detects if the input current drops below 3.9 mA and sets a sensor alarm.

Power supply for sensors

The sensor power supply is galvanic separated from the device supply and the PoE supply. It supplies 24 VDC and maximal 80 mA. It is the same supply for both Sensor connectors (Vex1+ and Vex2+). Make sure that the current of both sensors combined do not exceed 80 mA.
