Channel

Channel: the frequency of the wireless communication. Each channel is separate and a device on one channel cannot communicate to a device on another channel.

The Channel is defined on the RMS gateway. RMS wireless loggers inherit their settings from the corresponding gateway.

For 868 MHz, channels 1 … 5 correspond to the communication frequency 868.1…868.5 MHz.

For 915 MHz, channels 1…10 correspond to the communication frequency 912.5…917.0 MHz.

In each channel, up to 60 data loggers can be handled if the log interval is 1 minute. With a log interval of 10 seconds, only 10 data loggers can be handled.

This means that, running one gateway in each channel, with 60 data loggers per channel, 300 868MHz data loggers can run separately (with a log interval of 1 minute).

It is also possible to setup redundancy when required, simply by setting various gateways to the same channels.
