RMS LAN device DNS behaviour

Hi folks, slightly technical question…

So we know that RMS devices by default are programmed with the RMS cloud host name, but ...


do RMS LAN devices

1. Have the Cloud IP address programmed in to them against this hostname

OR

1. do they use the hostname rms.rotronic.com and perform and DNS lookup to find the IP address.

Knowing which is useful for customers that use DNS monitoring to trace issues… if the devices do not use dns when using the cloud then it is harder to trace!

Our LAN devices use the hostname "rms.rotronic.com" and perform a DNS lookup to find the IP address.
