Controlling RMS-DO-L-R with a button on Layout View

Hi all,

I am looking into a very interesting and special application. The customer would want to remotely control some machines with RMS and then watch process parameters like T/RH and so on. The ideal solution is obviously the RMS-DO-L-R module with relay switching output.

I am wondering if it's possible to activate the RMS-DO-L-R signal with a virtual button on the Layout View somehow?

Thanks James. Can I also program the unit to be switched at a certain condition? e.g. - when temperature goes above 100C, turn the DO signal on.

Yes, of course.

Step 1: Setup an action within the action menu. Name it for example "Alarm Light".
Step 2: Select the Switch Relay Function.
Step 3: Select the RMS-DO-L-R measuring point.
Step 4: Save.
Step 5: Setup an alarm scheme. Name if for example "Temperature >100°C".
Step 6: Setup the alarm details, in this case temperature >100°C.
Step 7: Select the action "Alarm Light".
Step 8: Save.
Step 9: Go to the measuring point where you want the alarm to be and select the alarm scheme "Temperature >100°C".
