  • Case 317

    Question:
I have removed the batteries from my data logger and no low battery reminder appears.

    Possible Root Cause:
    1. The device remains constantly powered.
    Solution:
    1. If the power supply is removed and no batteries are installed, data gaps will occur. Place the batteries in the data logger, remove the power supply and the data logger will display the battery level. If the batteries are new, please ensure that the battery counter has been reset (remove the batteries and push on the button for 3 seconds).

    Additional Information:
When the data logger is powered with 24V or PoE, the battery is not used and the data logger cannot read the battery level. When the logger is no longer powered via 24V or PoE, then the battery monitoring comes into play.

The RMS-BAT is a lithium thionly chloride battery (LiSocl2). The LiSocl2 decharge curve is constant until it starts dropping. It will drop at a fast rate. With the latest firmware, the RMS devices will monitor the counts as well as the battery capacity to ensure that no low battery reminders are missed.
